Buffalo Ridge Airsports is conveniently located on Route 29, just 20 minutes north of Lynchburg and 45 minutes south of Charlottesville in beautiful Amherst County.


Overnight camping is permitted at the flight park. The camping fee is $20 per night per tent or camper. Water and portable facilites are available but there is no electricity.

Several good restaurants are within 10 minutes of the flight park.

Directions:

Take 29 south from Charlottesville through Nelson County into Amherst County. Continue on Rt 29 until you pass Rt. 151 on your right. After you pass Rt. 151, get in the left hand lane and turn at the second crossover for Rt. 29 north (just before the Buffalo Ridge Bridge). Head north on Rt. 29 and turn right onto Airsports Drive.

From the North:

From the South:

About 500 feet past the Lynchburg airport take 460 East for about 5 miles to 29 North (NOT Business 29). Take 29 North to Amherst (about 15 - 20 minutes). Be sure to stay on Rt. 29, not Business 29 at any point. At 2.2 miles after passing Rt. 60, you will go down a hill, cross over the Buffalo River (very small river), and go up the hill on the other side. The flight park is on your right at the top of the hill. Turn right off of Rt. 29 onto Airsports Drive.

From the East:

From Richmond, drive west on Rt. 60 west to 29 north and follow the directions "From the South" or take Rt. 64 west to 29 north and follow the directions "From the North".

From Roanoke, drive east on Rt. 460 to Rt. 29 north in Lynchburg, then follow the directions "From the South".
